March 2026 San Diego Trip

Added in order. I have decided that this will be an annual trip for me. My pilgrimage. Then I’m moving.

Enjoy the pics!

A solo trip was exactly what I needed. It felt like there was nothing stopping me from doing whatever I wanted to do and see out there. The best part…I never missed a beach day.

Vacation Time

I’m sitting at the gate at the airport waiting to board my flight to San Diego. I’ve been planning this trip forever and I’m just so excited to finally go. It’s been almost 3 years since I’ve gone.

I brought my Canon and my 3 lenses so I’ll be able to take really great pictures of the places I’ve saved on my Google Maps. The zoo is on that list and I finally get to see a polar bear. A. POLAR. BEAR.

This is my first time traveling solo for fun. The best part is that no one is hijacking my week with their random itineraries. However, my aunt found me a playmate who will go everywhere with me bevause apparently, I need a friend while I’m there. No big deal. It’d be nice to have someone to talk to while I’m driving.

Surprisingly, I’m not having a panic attack right now. I was really worried about having one while traveling alone. But, I did take my Xanax. I plan to nap hard on the plane.

Here are the places I’ll be visiting in no particular order.

  1. San Diego Zoo
  2. The Living Coast
  3. Japanese Friendship Garden
  4. Balboa Park
  5. The Whaley House
  6. Whale Watching Tour
  7. Torrey Pines
  8. La Jolla (of course because sea lions are fun to watch when they’re chasing off tourists)

Please don’t stalk me.

Stay tuned for pictures by the end of the week or next week.

Perks

I have been preparing for my upcoming San Diego trip and the most important thing is to make sure that Freya will be comfortable on the plane. So I reached out to the airline to find out my options for her to be comfortable.

So, I got an upgrade to Premium Class and Priority Boarding. Woot!

How To Lose Friends From 3,000 Miles Away While In SoCal

  4. Send videos of Freya frolicking in the beach.
  5. Send images of whale sightings.
  6. Post an OOTD – a light sweater and shorts in November.
  7. Send images of the sunset in different angles from Sunset Cliffs.
  8. Send a selfie of myself working from the beach.
  9. Send a picture of my Jumbo Jack combo from Jack In The Box.
  10. Send pictures of authentic Mexican food.

Workcation

I am so excited that I’m just going to be rambling the whole time I’m typing this up. I received the best birthday present ever. I know it’s way early, but it had to be done because YOLO

That’s right bitches, I’m going to San Diego for a week for my birthday. The perks of being a remote worker comes into play because I can still work while I’m out there and then just go to the beach right after.

Also, I’ve started Freya on training to be a psychiatric service dog for my anxiety. She will be traveling with me so I don’t feel so alone. There will be no one with me so I decided to bring Freya because she’s the calmer one and friendlier looking.

Hopefully she doesn’t decide to sleep like this:

Not very service dog-like.

I already booked my AirBnB by the beach. The beach is right around the corner from the apartment. There’s a dog beach that’s about an hour walk which is fine because I need that walk anyway and it’s California.

For a while now, the Pacific Ocean has been calling me. And I finally get to go on my own doing what I want to do whenever I feel like it. I have never traveled alone before and I’m a little nervous but not scared anymore because Freya will be with me.

I’m booking a whale watching tour for my birthday and this company allows dogs on the boat during the tour. This should be interesting.

I will be visiting Sunset Cliffs Natural Park to watch the sunset and take a shitload of pictures. I’m putting that Canon DSLR to good use for once since I bought it two years ago.

I can’t wait for the smell of salt in the air, the sun, the sound of the waves, and just being in my happy place.

I’ve also been thinking about getting one of these.
